Lead researcher: Dr. Anne Hatløy

Anne is Coordinator of the Program on Child Labour and Trafficking at Fafo AIS, and her main research interests are nutrition, health and social indicators, child labour and trafficking.

Her main geographical interests are Mali, Liberia and West Africa in general, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Haiti.

Researcher: Dr. Jon Pedersen

Jon is Managing Director of Fafo AIS. He is an anthropologist with expertise in the design, implementation and analysis of quantitative and qualitative research projects in developing countries and countries in transition. He has varied field experience across Africa and the Middle East and extensive experience with research cooperation and institution building in conflict and post-conflict countries.

Jon is leader of the Work Package, 'Data and Measurement'.

Researcher: Dr. Morten Bøås

Morten is the Regional Coordinator for Africa at Fafo AIS. His main research interests are conflict, security and development; regions and regionalisation; and multilateral institutions and development.

His main geographical areas of interest are Central and West Africa (Sierra Leone, Liberia and Côte d'Ivoire) and Southeast Asia.

Ingunn is a researcher at Fafo AIS. Her main areas of interest are child labour and health. She is currently working on the diamond industry in Sierra Leone.

Her geographical areas of interest include Sierra Leone and Uganda.

Kathleen is a researcher at Fafo AIS. Her main areas of interest are human security; international policy interventions in conflict and post-conflict areas (with a particular focus on UN peacekeeping and peacebuilding operations); security privatisation and private military companies; economic actors in conflict; and gendered security.

Her main geographical focus is West Africa, especially Liberia.

Mark is the Deputy Managing Director of Fafo AIS, and his main research interests include war economies, business and human rights, international law, violence and human security, peace operations, international organisations.

Vesna is the president of the Victimology Society of Serbia and professor at the Faculty of Defectology in Belgrade. Her main interests are in victimisation, gendered violence and reconciliation.
